Jennifer Weigel created the Art Is Everywhere series of viewer participatory artworks to comment on and explore the thriving existence of art beyond strictly the gallery and museum settings. There are multitudes of creative people who never show their art in the formal art world and yet make wonderful and amazing contributions to the arts. Some are outsider artists who lack formal training while others find that they can connect with a wider range of people and explore different ideas outside of the formal art world.
This blog has been created to document the Art Is Everywhere sign project. The sign project debut occurred at the Fluxus St. Louis ArtFarm during the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis' Open Studios tour in July 2010. Weigel also offered a selection of her similarly-themed Cafe Press merchandise for sale at the event.
Art Is Everywhere is essentially meant to act as a subversive reminder that art is, in fact, EVERYWHERE.
