Signs of Our Times
The sign that I mailed on Monday has reached its destination. I have since received more information about the Signs of Our Times show, which has its own blog. This project is great - I get a lot of inspiration from signs and enjoyed checking out the many interpretations and finds.

Participation Postcards
I just got some postcards ready to send out today to all of the participants who registered during Open Studios. The postcards detail the existence of this blog and what will be posted to it, as well as how to contact me to send photos or art. I included return address labels on all of the cards that I am mailing in order to see whether or not any are returned.

On Mailing Signs
If you are interested in participating in this project and would like to have a sign mailed to you, please contact me via email through my web page and I will get you a registration form and instructions.
In order to send a sign to you, I do request that a $5 contribution (or similarly valued artwork donation) be mailed to me with your hard copy registration form to offset sign production and mailing costs. Sign requests received without proper registration forms and the aforementioned contribution shall not be honored.
After receipt of your mailed sign, please also email a photo of the sign as placed for documentation purposes. Donated artworks received and photographs of signs placed will be posted to the blog and possibly later included in a show devoted to this project at my discretion and as space permits. Any artworks received shall not be returned and will become part of the documentation of this project.
Please note: mailed signs will be sent via the U.S. Post Office with postage affixed directly to the sign itself and so will not come with sign wires. Sign shipment is at the risk of the recipient; lost signs cannot be replaced.

Outgoing Mail
Keith Buchholz, who hosted the project debut, spoke about the Art Is Everywhere sign project with a friend of his who wants to include a sign in the upcoming Signs of Our Times show at Mobius in Boston, so here's #32, ready for its journey through the mail.

Jennifer Weigel
I placed my own sign in front of my Affton, MO house, which also contains my studio. I decided to move my sign inside the window for greater visibility and because I was concerned that, if left unattended in the yard, it might be stolen, as had previously happened to one of our plastic lawn flamingos.

After the Debut
Fourteen of the ninety-nine Series One Art Is Everywhere signs were distributed after the debut of this project today. Participants were encouraged to select whichever sign they wanted from those placed randomly throughout the property, so the signs have been dispersed randomly as well. So far, in order of selection, numbers 1, 65, 41, 55, 23, 5, 24, 83, 87, 49, 56, 95, 69, and 67 have been registered.
Debut at Fluxus St. Louis Art Farm
These photos were taken right before the debut at Keith Buchholz's St. Louis, MO Fluxus St. Louis ArtFarm.

About This Project
Jennifer Weigel created the Art Is Everywhere series of viewer participatory artworks to comment on and explore the thriving existence of art beyond strictly the gallery and museum settings. There are multitudes of creative people who never show their art in the formal art world and yet make wonderful and amazing contributions to the arts. Some are outsider artists who lack formal training while others find that they can connect with a wider range of people and explore different ideas outside of the formal art world.
This blog has been created to document the Art Is Everywhere sign project. The sign project debut occurred at the Fluxus St. Louis ArtFarm during the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis' Open Studios tour in July 2010. Weigel also offered a selection of her similarly-themed Cafe Press merchandise for sale at the event.
Art Is Everywhere is essentially meant to act as a subversive reminder that art is, in fact, EVERYWHERE.
